THE character Colin wanted to see . . .

Winnie the Pooh was the most anticipated character to find during our trip for Colin. Thankfully, we did find him and waited in line to get this picture. I think it's obvious how happy Colin is to have met him! (unfortunately, we missed Tigger . . . )

Nate's Favorite Ride

Without a doubt, Nate's favorite ride at Disneyland was Autopia. As we got into line, we were each handed a "driver's license." Nate was amazed. He was even more amazed as he realized he was going to "drive" the car. He spent the rest of the night trying to convince Bo & me to buy him an open car for his birthday - because "he already has a license!"

The cars followed a track, and you held down the pedal to make it stop/go (up to 7 mph!). We rode twice - the first time Nate & I got to be the lead car; the second time Bo & Colin were the lead car. Being the lead car was more fun, as you got to set the pace - but for Nate, it was all about the steering!

We took advantage of reciprocal memberships and visited the Discovery Science Center near Anaheim. The boys had fun, especially climbing the rock wall!

we're back . . .

As you can probably imagine, we took hundreds of pictures during our trip to California. We got back home tonight, so I'll post just a few from our first full day. We all had a wonderful time. Check back later for more pictuers!

more birthday fun

The zoo closes at 4PM, but the Gardens stay open until 8PM. After the zoo closed, Colin asked if we could visit the Gardens, so we did!

The Phoenix Zoo has a new exhibit of stingrays, and we arrived during feeding time! Colin was brave and fed the stingrays some fish and shrimp. Nate preferred to watch. You put your fist in the water, holding the fish. When the stingrays get close, you open your fist and they slurp the fish right from your hand! What a fun birthday activity!

Per the birthday boy's request, we're headed to the zoo today. I wanted to post these pictures, though, because I know my dad checks during the day usually.

Grandma & Grandpa's presents were big hits! I think you can see his excitement?! He loved the Legos, and he loved the note telling about the store!
