We've managed to avoid the nebulizer for almost a year - but Colin had a major asthma attack today that had us in the doctor's office. He's going to start taking preventive meds, instead of just rescue meds. Right now, he'll be taking 5 days of steroids & nebulizer treatments every 4 hours. The doctor initially thought he'd have to be hospitalized, but thankfully the treatments seem to be doing the trick.
He's such an amazingly good sport about it all. The doctor kept exclaiming what a wonderful kid he was, and how it was so great that even though he was in serious respiratory distress, he was still charming and polite. He was flirting with the nurse, laughing with the doc, and struggling to breathe all at the same time!He was excited about Christmas, but his brother woke him up much earlier than he would have woken on his own.
Colin received the latest Faith Hill CD for Christmas. Can you tell how much he loves her? LOL
Colin & Nate chose to leave Santa a hard boiled egg (he needs protein for energy, you know!), carrots for the reindeer, and Daddy talked them into leaving a Coke instead of the hot tea with milk they wanted to leave. Colin was a very tired boy by the time we put out the snack!
Christmas Eve, 2005. At least 3 of us look nice. We took a bunch of shots, this was the best.
Colin took this picture - He posed us just this way and I love the way it turned out. He's quite the little photographer!
Nate also chose a gift from Uncle matt to open on Christmas Eve. He was very excited to open a book full of construction trucks!
Colin has been coveting this book (Encyclopedia: Prehistoric Dinosaurs: The Definitive Pop-up) for months! He chose one gift to open on Christmas Eve and it happened to be this book from his Uncle Matt. He is thrilled (can you tell?) LOL!
Colin & Nate were very serious about sharing their lists with Santa Claus this year. Colin wanted a rechargeable flashlight and Nate wanted a friend for his stuffed lamb, Mickey.
We attended a performance of the Nutcracker a couple weekends ago. The boys enjoyed the ballet and I loved this ornament!
I hope someone brings a professional staging of this ballet locally in the next couple years. The children who put on this ballet did a wonderful job, but it was clearly an amateur performance. Perfect for the boys' first ballet, however.
We finished decorating the tree today! Yea! It still feels funny not to have a real tree this year - but this one will last longer!
The boys had a blast helping decorate and looking at all the ornaments we've given them.
This picture cracks me up. I was trying to get a nice pic of both boys and Nate was acting very silly and refusing to stand still. He finally did - but you can see his brother isn't sure if he will stay put. LOL
