Less than 3 months!
Our neighbor (and talented photographer) wanted to try out his new back-drop and offered to take some holiday photos of the kids. (I think it's because I have such photogenic offspring.) We jumped at the offer and dressed the kids up in some holiday finery. Aren't they cute?
It's hard to believe it's less than 3 months before Christmas, but it'll be here before we know it!

Did your newborns have hair?
There's an old wives tale that heartburn during pregnancy means your newborn will be born with hair. I had heartburn, and all 3 of my kids were born with hair.
Colin had the most (he's over there on the left), but they all had hair which they did not lose in the early weeks after birth.
Do you think there's any truth to that old wives tale? Click on over and find out!

Tips for Calm Dogs
Over at Prevention, I wrote some tips for helping a dog stay calm.
Having a house full of young, active, loud children is NOT one of the tips, but just reality at our house. We can only hope we'll all adapt.

more baseball
One more game and the season is over for the year. Both boys had fun, but Nate seems to really enjoy playing and he plays very well. He hit an awesome home run tonight that tickled him pink.
If you look carefully at the first picture you can see the blur of the bat and the ball Colin is about to hit.
Lydia enjoys exploring the fields and has never given up trying to get out on the field to play. She also likes that there are a couple different sets of steps to climb. The last picture gives you just a glimpse of how busy and active and always in motion she is.
Next up: flag football! That season starts in early October.

Smoothie Love
We enjoy smoothies on a regular basis. I appreciate how quickly they can be thrown together and how nutritious they are when we make them at home. I recently posted one of my recipes over at Prevention for a simple strawberry-banana smoothie made with green tea.
There's no added sugar, but the fruit provides plenty of sweetness. The green tea adds anti-oxidants and there's no added sugar from juices that are sometimes used for extra liquid.
Now, if only I could find a self-cleaning blender!

Labor Day Weekend
Our house has grown a little small for us, so Bo decided to close in our back patio and make an extra room. We've talked about it for quite a while, but this weekend he was very busy making it happen.
We'll move our office into this room off the kitchen, and give Lydia her own room in what used to be the office. I'll continue to update his progress on the blog.
